Utility Customer Service

Mission Statement


The mission of Utility Customer Service is to serve our community with an administrative process for establishing and maintaining water, sewer, and garbage services. The Department will carry out its mission through a high quality “Customer Service Program” that offers a variety of payment methods and options by customer-oriented employees during 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday inclusive of the noon hour for convenience. A drop box located at the front entrance of City Hall is also available.

Utility Billing Issues

We have received notice that our customers have received  higher than normal utility bills in the October billing. We have run an exception report and those customers who have a 50% increase in the average bill are shown in the report. To open the report, click here

If you are not shown in the exception report, please submit a request for a billing investigation using our Report a Utility Billing Issue form.  We will investigate all in the order they are received.

Municipal Energy Usage for Calendar Year 2012



Natural Gas


The City of Aransas Pass purchases natural gas from CenterPoint Energy. In calendar year 2012, the City purchased a total of 19,078 cubic feet (MCF) of natural gas.

Electricity


The City purchases electricity from Direct Energy. In calendar year 2012, the City purchased a total of 3,482,528 kilowatt hours.

Water Purchase


The City purchases water from San Patricio Municipal Water District and the City of Ingleside. In calendar year 2012, the City purchased a total of 547,672,000 gallons of water; 474,181,000 from San Patricio Municipal Water District and 73,490,000 gallons from the City of Ingleside.

The total cost of natural gas, electricity and water purchased by the City in the calendar year 2012 is $1,792,456.99.
