Mission


The mission of the Finance Department is to uphold the confidence of the citizens of Aransas Pass by managing the City’s finances with integrity and pride. The department will strive to exceed the citizen’s expectations by ensuring that all accounting functions including asset preservation, cash management, financial reporting, budget management, grant administration, and utility system billings and collections operate under principles determined by the Governmental Accounting Standard Board (GASB), Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and other legally mandated standards as required by Federal, State and City law.

Realizing that this mission can only be accomplished through strict budgetary controls the Finance Department is committed to support the city manager and the department heads in fulfilling all aspects of fiscal financial responsibility while offering quality customer service in the best interest of the most important element of the community we serve; our citizens.
