The Aransas Pass Municipal Development District (APMDD) is a political subdivision of the State of Texas and the City, established for the purposes of promoting economic development within the City as prescribed by Chapter 377 of the Texas Local Government Code. The Aransas Pass Aquatic Center, completed in 2002, was the District's first project at a cost of $3.4M. The District Board has approved a design plan and site plan for a new state of the art Civic Center under construction on the previous site of Roosevelt Stadium. The center will include a large banquet facility with stage, several meeting rooms, and an outdoor courtyard area.
