MUNICIPAL ENERGY USAGE FOR CALENDAR YEAR 2007
NATURAL GAS - The City of Aransas Pass purchases natural gas from CenterPoint Energy. In calendar year 2007, the City purchased a total of 19,581 cubic feet (MCF) of natural gas.
ELECTRICITY - The City purchases electricity from Constellation New Energy. In calendar year 2007, the City purchased a total of 3,335,259 kilowatt hours.
WATER PURCHASE - The City purchases water from San Patricio Municipal Water District and the City of Ingleside. In calendar year 2007, the City purchased a total of 502,711,000 gallons of water from San Patricio Municipal Water District and 12,002,000 gallons from the City of Ingleside.
The total cost of natural gas, electricity and water purchased by the City in the calendar year 2007 is $ 1,574,090.37.

The mission of the Finance Department is to uphold the confidence
of the Citizens of Aransas Pass by managing the City’s
finances with integrity and pride. The Department will strive
to exceed the Citizen’s expectations by ensuring that
all accounting functions including asset preservation, cash
management, financial reporting, budget management, grant administration,
and utility system billings and collections operate under principles
determined by the Governmental Accounting Standard Board (GASB),
Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and other
legally mandated standards as required by Federal, State and
City law.
Realizing that this mission can only be accomplished through
strict budgetary controls the Finance Department is committed
to support the City Manager, Assistant City Manager, and the
Department Heads in fulfilling all aspects of fiscal financial
responsibility while offering quality customer service in the
best interest of the most important element of the community
we serve - - Our Citizens.
